ABout

Greetings! I am Sam and I do not like green eggs and ham, but I do love baking and all desserts. In the midst of the ups and downs of life, I have found a passion for baking whether it be in celebration of a birthday or new job or an act of kindness for a friend feeling under the weather. I hope Sammy Sweets can offer the same sense of joy and comfort for you, too. After all, all of my desserts are made from scratch, love, and zero calories.

A little about myself:

I grew up in Wilton, Connecticut with 8 siblings. Yes, you read that correctly. I have 3 fun-loving older brothers and five rambunctious little sisters. Our house was far from quiet and ice cream was an absolute must have in our home. Other than my proud years with my easy bake oven, my childhood was mostly spent going from one sporting event to another. It was not until after I had graduated from Wesleyan University (also in Connecticut) that I found myself infatuated with running and baking, a balancing duo if you will.

In honor and later in memory of my grandma, Agnes McMorris, I signed up to run the Boston Marathon in 2016 for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In an effort to keep the fundraising coming, I began baking for anyone and everyone that donated to my cause regardless of the amount. At times when the miles seemed nearly impossible, I was propelled forward and driven to cross that finish line and my fundraising goal. What started out as a subtle, emotional thank you soon grew into one of my most unanticipated passions. I have been baking up a storm ever since.

I have now decided to launch Sammy Sweets and hope you enjoy the creative and tasty treats I come up with along the way!
